Festivals Across Georgia – Dogwood Festival
Grown Folks,
Spring is in the air and festival season is in full bloom. Today we started our new series “Festivals Across Georgia”. The GFE team will be hitting the road checking out local festivals across Georgia from Springtime to Summer to Fall! Join us as we become your eyes & ears while exploring the sights, sounds, and taste of Georgia. No worries…we will share our finds with you in case you would like to take the journey for yourself. Also, please contact us at socialmedia@grownfe.com if you would like to share information about an upcoming festival. See you there!
On the perfect Saturday weather day, our journey took us to the Dogwood Festival at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, Georgia. This annual festival celebrates the blooming of native dogwood trees. It is filled with live music, arts and crafts, food booths and family-friendly activities. This Festival was ranked No. 35 in the Sunshine Artist Magazine Best 200 fine arts festivals in the United States and every kind of art imaginable is represented at the festival. There is also a with a nationally renowned-juried Fine Artist Market that includes sculpture, paintings, pottery, jewelry, photography and much more.
Go MARTA…It’s SMARTER!!! $7.00 to purchase a Marta card and round trip ticket. The Dogwood Festival offers a free shuttle (school bus) from the Arts Center station that will take you to the entrance of Piedmont Park and return you back to the Arts Center (during the designated times)whenever you are ready.
There were many food options. My choice for today was a crab cake sandwich and a Pina Colada…both were simply DELICIOUS!!!
The Dogwood Festival continues Sunday 10:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Check it out!
