It makes me want to SCREAM!!!
When was the last time you ordered a piece of furniture and put it together yourself?
I recently purchased two desks for my office that required assembly. I opened the box and began to confirm all of the pieces before assembling. As I began to review the directions, I started to feel uneasy because it was very limited with word directions and resorted to pictures that were labeled with alphabets and part numbers.[The first few pages were somewhat easy to follow because they only showed 2 steps… max! By page 11, I was ready to SCREAM!!!! The screws, the holes, the alphabets and the box left me overwhelmed and pulling out my hair. I had pieces upside down and going in the wrong direction. Between putting it together and taking it apart, it took me 2 days just to figure this page out (as shown below).
On day three, I was determined to successfully assemble the desk, and I did just that! I decided to revisit the last successful page, of the instructional booklet, and start over one more time. The pieces fell into place and in 15 minutes desk one was assembled. Desk two went rather smoothly and was completed in one hour.
Due to the lack of worded instructions… four required screws were not used…and remain unused to this day. Nonetheless, I have two desks in my office and all is well!
