Living Through The Ages features the one and only, Ms. Patti LaBelle.
Patti LaBelle was a contestant on Dancing With the Stars this year and lasted 6 weeks. She personified living the Grown Folks lifestyle by overcoming obstacles, following her dreams and getting better with age. Her tenacity inspired me to share her story with you.
If only we knew how… to salsa like you, Patti! Highly awarded performer, Patti LaBelle just doesn’t stop.In her 57 year career span, she continues to show the masses that you are as young as you feel- and by the looks of it, she’s got to be nineteen!
Ms. LaBelle won 2 Grammy’s and has been nominated on many occasions. She’s won 7 NAACP Image Awards, 8 Lifetime Achievement Awards, as well as American Music Awards, GLAAD, and UNCF awards. With her large category of music, she has been touring off and on since 1985!
The Philadelphia native has had an accomplished career since the 1960s! She sang in a girl group known as the Bluebelles- which debuted her belting, brassy soprano tone, became a successful solo artist, an actress in TV, films, and on Broadway; has had lines of wigs, cooking sauces, books and a DVD. Her work ethic is simply commendable, and her credits continue to grow!
The 70-year-old diva’s latest venture is competing on the 20th season of Dancing with the Stars. As the show progresses, it is clear that she is one of the crowd’s favorites. But never mind that she’s the oldest contestant on the show, because age, as well as, suffering a knee injury doesn’t stop her for going for the gold. She is also returning to the second season of Fox’s hit-series “Empire”!
While the “Godmother of Soul” has proven that she can do it all, she continues to approach every business venture with grace and continues to inspire past, present, and future generations!
Patti will not be hanging up her dancing shoes. She plans to add some of the technique she’s learned from the show into her concert routines.
