Did you recently purchase or upgrade to the Galaxy Note 7?
If you did, like me, then you need to know about the recent global recall on the phone. About three dozen of the phones were found to have batteries that caught fire and exploded while being charged. Not wanting to take further risk, Samsung announced this recall last week.
- The retailer from which you purchased the Note 7 originally
- Contact Samsung directly by calling 1-800-SAMSUNG
You have two options
- Exchange your Note 7 for a new model that doesn’t have a potentially defective battery pack. Updated models should start shipping as soon as this week.
- Replace your Note 7 with either a Galaxy S7 or a Galaxy S7 edge phone.
Note: Samsung will also refund you for any Note 7 accessories you might have already purchased.
Finally, Samsung will give you a $25 gift card as a “gesture of appreciation,” or $25 bill credit from select (unspecified) carriers/retailers in an effort to say sorry for your inconvenience.
