You’re packed and ready to go, but how’s your car? Is it ready to get on the road? Here’s a reminder of what to look for before you do any extensive traveling, this summer:
- Tires The most common travel slip ups are faulty tires. Tires are either faulty before the trip, or they become faulty during travel. Have your tires looked at for nails, air pressure, and if the threads are worn to the paint
- Have your brakes checked out. Different cities yield different driving behaviors.
- Make sure the transmission can stand the drive. Having it replaced can take up a lot of time and money from your trip.
- Fuel system cleanups can take the pressure off of your wallets when you are buying gas. Doing this in conjunction with your regular oil change and engine air filter you are likely to have a smoother trip than if you didn’t do this typical inspection.
